Wendy was flustered. She said to her husband Greg, “Somebody hit on me
today.”
“Well I hope you told him you were flattered
but not interested.”
“It wasn’t a ‘him.’”
Greg’s eyes widened. “Really?”
“Lisa. You’ve met her. She works downstairs.
I don’t have to work directly with her, but I see her occasionally.”
“Kind of a dirty blonde?”
“That’s the one.”
“How do you know she was hitting on you?”
“She just was. OK?”
“OK, but are you sure you aren’t
misinterpreting anything?”
“There was nothing to interpret. She was very
clear about what she wanted.”
“Which was?”
“I was in my office all pissed off because I
could find the mistake in the accounting sheets. I was nearly pulling my
hair out. You know how I get.”
“Yes.”
“She came in and said a couple of nice things,
nothing improper, and then she offered to rub my 
shoulders
to ‘relieve the tension.’ I let her. I thought she was just being
nice. Then she starts whispering in my ear how she would love to relieve
my tension in ways I couldn’t even imagine. Now was that a hint or what?”
“That was no hint. That was a straight forward
unabashed proposition.”
“See? That’s what I’ve been trying to tell
you.”
“So what did you say to her?”
“I didn’t say anything. She walked out and
left me hanging.”
“That’s an interesting choice of words.”
“What?”
“Left you hanging, like you wanted her to do something more.”
“Greg! I don’t do that sort of thing, or I
haven’t done that sort of thing, or I might do that sort of thing.”
“There’s a first time for everything.”
“Are you saying you want me to do it with her?”
“Only if I can watch...”
